You're wasting your time and energy, better to do some calf raises (eccentric of course) to strengthen those piddly things you have where calves should be. Recovering while jogging on the spot has no specificty to distance running, unless some trampolining competition is relevant to the national senior 800m, so stop chatting and start jogging, but no, it seems socialising with shine comes first over buffering the lactate between reps.
