Aaron, bud, come on dude. We all know Usain Bolt is an amazing athlete and I believe we, as runners, should admire his talent. Yeah, I'm a distance runner but still admire Bolt. All his recent accomplishments and everything, and I have to totally agree with Adam here, yeah bolt does show off a bit, but its a good thing! I just think everyone who criticizes him should just chill out. I mean damn, just watching him run sends chills up my spine! haha

Why am I hearing so much negativity coming from you Americans..what Usain is doing for the sport is outstanding..he is finally bringing back the attention the sport as lost over the last few years..Marion Jones was the last major track star ..now it's Bolts turn to pump some entertainment in the sports..so stop being unjust and give the man the respect he deserves

I love football and basketball but they are not TRUE sports. And please DO NOT compare Pre to Bolt. Pre is legendary. Bolt may be a great sprinter but he will NEVER be like Pre
first off, don't tell me what I can and can't do and hold off on declaring Pre as some saint. I think Pre was a great athlete in his time and a great inspiration to more runners than I will ever know. However, I never said Bolt is the NEXT Pre. I mentioned his bravado was in the same vein as Pre (albeit Bolt is a bit more flashy than Pre may have been). One was a sprinter and the other a distance runner, but both were outspoken and liked to play to the crowd. I'm a long time distance runner and a distance coach, but I am more than happy that any TRACK athlete is bringing some notarity back to the sport as a character people will watch. People came to track and field meets in the 60's and 70's to see Pre race fast and hard, to see him run his victory lap and to hear what he had to say afterwards. He was a larger than life character. I love the 5 and 10K, but no one (outside of very passionate fans and athletes) are watching those races or even know who from the US are in those races. But, just maybe someone will have tuned into the World Championships to watch Bolt and Gay run and then perhaps they think "hey, maybe I'll see what event is next or when is the next broadcast". I'm glad we have someone who will captivate the casual observer like Football and Basketball do.

he's a figure like Steve Prefontaine that is good for track and field. Yeah, he is a bit of a show off and plays to the crowd, but have you watched the NFL or NBA? Those guys aren't any different after a sack, touchdown, 3-pointer or slam dunk. Let the guy have fun and hopefully watch the sponsors and FANS roll in.

He is the fastest man alive- catch him if you can- he is incredibly good for the sport.

yeah right dude! just because he likes to gain attention (which is great for the sport btw), doesn't mean he is a bad person. have you ever seen an interview of him? he is very nice and humble. I support him 100%.
