![]() #1 | Short clip of McQuaid Jesuit HS (Rochester NY) junior Tomarris Bell, jumping 6'5.25" during the NYS Championships Pentathlon. His approach is cut but the amazing thing is his secondary movement after he leaves the ground. I'm a jumps coach and I've never seen anything like it. Virtually everything about his plant, angle, takeoff point and body position at takeoff is the same as any other good jumper, but what he does with his upper body off the ground is supposed to be impossible! Generally speaking the fact is what you do off the ground is not supposed to make any difference in the height you are capable of reaching, but this kid may be the exception to the rule. enjoy! reply |
