Regarding Me's Comments: There's no need to "know him", the fact is that in this interview he pretty much gave only excuses

He raced a good race, he just disn't have a good mental state...i think if he wasn't so weak mentally, then he would of won

Regarding "excuses" maybe you should know the kid before making assumptions.

Outstanding young man. Div. I programs with the assistance of USATF and USOC should take defending NCAA champions, like Ryan, overseas to compete on the circuit, at least the summer before their senior year, to give the athletes and idea of what they're facing when they've exhausted their eligibility. Then athletes going into their senior year, or underclassmen/women expected to go pro, should meet with an advisor to plan their summer overseas after NCAAs and US Nationals. It's clear from Ryan's comments that he, like many other collegiate athletes, don't have a clear plan on what their going to do to compete overseas.
