Yoa, your comments are spot on. Lauren and Matt came through the youth track & field program in which I coached in high school and college. I think Lauren was about 11 or 12 when I worked with her, and she was an absolute sweetheart. Mamma Beverly was a great lady, too. Matt Sr was just as Lauren describes him, here. He was mostly quiet and hanged back, but you could tell he was deeply invested in his kids.

Matt Centrowitz was a great runner, but also a great father. Both Lauren and Matt are good solid people.

She's one of those rare people who is soft spoken and gracious, and prefers to let her actions speak for her.
Also seems like she has been under the radar for a long time and everyone is always looking at someone else and she sneaks in for the WIN!

Ironic...I saw that you were going to interview Lauren, and I was so excited because she is a most well-spoken, introspective, and thoughtful person.

Then she mentions how inferior she feels to her fellow students.
Too bad she's moving back east. I wish Centro Sr. would move to the West Coast and start a training group.
