Hey   March 16 at 6:54pm
Wheating did a lot more running than some of the others that weekend. Plus, he was coming off an injury. He knows he can do more than this and that's why he's disappointed. Maybe that's all Hernandez or Mulder had, but we know Wheating can do better than that if he wasn't coming off an injury or if he only had to run the 800 and that was it. That can make a big difference. Don't know about Hernandez, but that's all Mulder ran was the 800. That's plenty, I would say. But I bet he was fresher than Wheating, and Wheating could still pull it off. Good job.

Yeah, But...   March 16 at 1:32pm
to gimme a break: of course he can win races like this, but he shouldn't be holding back tears over 2nd place...just seems a little over dramatic to me. Any one of those three could have won it thats all, just happened to be Hernandez this time, have a positive attitude, don't make excuses and move on to outdoors.

Gimme A Break   March 16 at 12:59pm
the guy is coming off from the olympic games so i think its only fair for him to have the mentality that he can win races like this. and its not like he's putting anyone down, he gave Jacob his respect and Wheating is a smart guy anyway.

btw, I hear this kid gets LOTS of as.s at...anyone know if these rumors are true?

man, everyone in that race came there to win it. You gotta realize you are in a group of GREAT 800 runners. Mulder included. don't be so down, it was anyone's race...not just yours to win.

"I didn't come here to be 2nd, I came to win." Dude you almost got third, you and Mulder were .003 seconds apart. Don't wanna mention that though, huh. Anywayz, get the attitude right man, a 2nd place finish in nationals is a real honor!! cheer up, don't cry about it. And prove yourself at outdoors.

Predictions   March 15 at 12:35pm
Now he knows how KD feels....

There will be three 145 guys this outdoors.
Hernandez
Wheating
Everett
Im excited to see what Everett does outdoors. This is his first year training for 800m?? I think that the benefits of his 800m training will catch up to him by the end of outdoors, he probably saw very little of it indoors.
Good luck boys!!

I love what's going on in the track world these days. You guys are doing a great job getting out there and getting these amazing interviews. Being able to watch the highs of someone like Galen and Jenny and feeling the lows of Wheating and Brie is truly awesome. It really makes you appreciate this sport, the passion that so many have for it and the sacrifices they make.
