When I listen to her describing her performance at 2009 Indoor Nationals and 2007 Cross Country Championships, I am interested to review her fueling strategies.

Dathan Ritz's Olympic Marathon fueling strategies are famous to contributing to peak performance; seen below:

Brie,
the good news is you'll graduate w/ a degree from UNC. The better news is you'll get better just ask Erin & Shalane.

Brie, try to stay positive. You're almost done with school, and then you can train the way you want and have a more relaxed lifestyle. Do what makes you happy.

She is not a big meet runner? Yea, remember 2007 NCAA championships? I think that counts as a "big meet."

i got worked for 4 years 3 seasons straight that extended until june + summer track! what you need to do is run for yourself, take some days easy, lay off the meaningless meets. you could take a month off right now, maybe jog on the conveinent days and be just fine in june.

good luck!

Poor Brie. She's a great runner but just hasn't really had her perfect season yet. I'm sure we'll see her do great things in the future.

Good luck Brie.

Stay tough Brie! I felt the same way a couple years ago, but I came back and had a great past few years of running. Just keep chugging at it, you'll find the love for it again.

I think when someone doesn't race well that we shouldn't ask them,"what happened?" or "what went wrong?" That just puts undo pressure on them.
why is this a bad thing? if something went wrong then something went wrong. whether its said in a interview or with the coach, it needs to be talked about. the only way to improve is to learn from your experiences. these athletes are competing against the best in the country and hopefully even more after their college years. if an interview question is creating that much "undo pressure" then you probably wouldn't see them at this level.

you always hear from people that do well and win, but i think you learn the most about yourself in times of defeat. regardless, keep your head up brie. you'll be right up in the mix soon!

I don't like how you asked if it was because of the DMR or the mile heat from the day before. Sometimes people just don't race well. As runners we all know that there are a million factors that can play into how we perform on any given day. Sometimes you have a bad day and someone else has a good day. Hell, sometimes you can have a good day and someone else can have an AWESOME day. I think when someone doesn't race well that we shouldn't ask them,"what happened?" or "what went wrong?" That just puts undo pressure on them. Best of luck to you Brie...keep your head up.

To; It Was There Once, Overall she is not the big meet runner. She hasn't gotten it done when it really counts. Not to say that she isn't talented or fast and maybe in the future. I guess we will See.

This is the most modest I have ever seen brie!! I completely understand when she says she needs a break... we all need to have a little mental and physical break every once in a while. Good luck though!

Dang, I love her more and more every interview. Always modest and so sweet.

You can tell she's a little tired and frustrated. She'll bounce back great for outdoor.
Keep your head up!
