Sara Hall didn’t really consider track and field as a career option until her senior year in college – even after picking up four state titles and a national title during her high school career, and being a member of the extraordinary Stanford cross country and track teams, where she earned four runner-up finishes in NCAA championship track races. But when 2006 rolled around, Hall brought home the national 5K road championship and the prestigious Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile.

Hall is currently taking a break from cross country to train indoors and test the track as a new, permanent direction. Although she hasn’t decided whether or not the mile will be her event, she’s gaining experience through a variety of competitions under the wing of Team Running USA coach Terrance Mahon, where the 23-year-old trains alongside her husband, Ryan Hall.

Some of Hall’s personal records include running the 1500m in 4:08.99 in 2007; a road mile in 4:25 in 2007; the 3000m in 8:56.93 in 2006; the 5000m with a time of 15:20.88 in 2006; and a 10K in 32:57 in 2007.
