Man! What happened with old Jake at the USATF Nationals meet in the SC Finals? He was rolling and then the wheels just came off with him running into the barrier! Hard luck that is for sure, but he definitely looked to be tired from so many steeple races in such a short time span. Just sort of like Kyle Perry looking pretty worn out in the finals at USATF Nats.

its weird to see all these athletes just running at local high schools, it makes them seem like real people... not running gods

My money is on Perry after seeing the prelims. He is a lot smoother over the barriers then Morse. Morse is terrible over the barriers. First he skies them, then he twists and flails his arms about. Not good.
Wow, congratulations on calling the winner. I was duly impressed when I looked at results and at Perry's nice win over the field and I remembered this comment. Excellent race for all to see.

Coming from Austin, Texas, he really wasn't going that slow for the conditions. I actually train at the Austin High Track several times of the week. If you go anytime after 7am or before 7:30pm, it is so HOT that it is really hard to run, and if you must your times will be slower than normal. Give the guy a break.

This is ridiculous reading over these commetns. Last week, there was a great pole vault workout and people ed and complained. Now, there's a distance workout and people and complain. My god. Folks, let's remember something here....THIS SITE IS FFFRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE. You ought to thank Mark, Ryan, and the rest of the crew every time you post that there is ANY coverage of ANY event in all of track and field that does not have Carol Lewis' shrill vocie over it. Yeah, the guys who run the site are distance runners themselves. These are the events they understand the best and are closest to thier hears. WHO CARES?!?!?!? They've covered field events. They've covered sprinters. Sure, even as a distance runner, I'd like to see a little more variety. But seriously, I'll say it again....this site is free. get over yourselves.

If we're tallying votes you can count me as a distance runner who enjoys the work out videos as much as anyone. I like and prefer the distance work outs (especially from the pros) but enjoy getting some insight into the other events and specialists as well. Keep up the good work.

seriously, people want sprint workouts.
They involve only like 2 minutes of total sprinting and 2 hours of nothing. distance workouts are where it's at.

A workout is a workout - a distance runner can learn from a sprint or pole vault workout and a visa versa. Think about that hurdle jumping that Kluft was doing - that was amazing.

Great Debate   June 10 at 4:44pm
It's nice to see everyone giving their opinion. It helps the guys decide what videos to do. But stop bashing the guys that want only distance videos. It's a fact that just about everyone who comes to this site is a distance runner. I'm sure someone will reply that they are not, but 99 percent are. So when the local papers do huge articles about the sprinters doing 11 second runs, they want to go to a place where distance runners are appreciated. It's what brought me to this site. Distance guys need love too. When a week goes by where there is not a distance workout, they feel lonely. So let them give their opinion about the videos that cover non running(distance) stuff. I know I'm sad when I miss a good, hard, long, fast, great commentary, and great insight distance workout.

When you say "track is back" that basically refers to distance running is back. Sprinting has always been more popular than distance running. Couple that with the fact that Mark is a distance runner and badabing! You'll get a distance emphasis. I personally wish they would only do distance workouts. Some guys I'd like to see are Solinsky, Fam, Arkansas, Leer, Jenkins, and Jager. Just incase Flotrack needs some ideas on where to go for future ones.

I love that they change it up to encorporate field workouts and sprinter workouts, its genious. It def. helps grow their fan base to not just the stereotypical skinny white dudes in highschool (i am one of them) so back off and appreciate what's playing in front of you. Don't request a workout, like they are some magical ponies that do tricks when you want them to.

Someone gave an opinion that he didn't like the video. Everyone jump on him like he's the worst guy ever. Or we can just let him have his own opinion. Personally, I really liked this video. But I didn't like last weeks. But that's ok. I think there's not enough distance workouts and the other guy thinks there isn't enough sprinter workouts. We're both right. It's our opinion. If everyone just said "Wow", I guess nobody would argue.
