Letterman should have at least treated Meb like an actual guest and invite him to sit down and have a chat. Hell, he was a better host to K-Fed than he was to Meb! It's good the media is taking notice of Meb and his win, but c'mon. Let the guy sit down, he ran a marathon.

actually meb didnt go to a fancy school, just a normal school in the san diego region(escondido)

My grandma, who is from Wales, moved to the US in 1955 and still has a Welsh/British accent. I guess this is acceptable and less shocking since she speaks English. Once a person's native dialect is ingrained into their speaking patterns/inflections, it is difficult to lose their accent completely even when they learn a new language and live in new country. I wish the media outlets would lay off the "is he really an American" angle. I think living here for 20 years and becoming an American citizen ends the discussion.

its kind of shocking that he cant speak better english since hes been in the U.S. since he was 12
Way to go Meb! It looks like he has another career when he hangs up his track shoes. :)
