#23	Genetics In Running October 2, 2007 at 1:42pm After seeing alans mom at the finish I realized genetics has nothing to do with good running. Even if your family tree was raised on big macs and soap opears it will not effect your running if you train hard. reply

#2	Rump Roast September 29, 2007 at 12:27pm WOW was not expecting Pat Tarpy to hang on like that!!! Very surprising. Lukezic should had watched Alan more closely. Kevin Sullivan ran an excellent race and so did Barros. Barros should have done 1500 instead of 5000 at worlds even though he did make it to the finals (correct if wrong). Rankin (black dude) ran hard to. Your going to be hearing about Tarpy and Rankin more often in the near future. The only other american I would have liked to see there is Leo Manzano who ran 1500 at Texas. That would have made things interesting. Great race. reply

Bio:	Alan Webb jumped into the national scene in high school with his success at the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships and more notably with his success in the mile. He smashed Jim Ryun's HSR… + See More + Alan Webb jumped into the national scene in high school with his success at the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships and more notably with his success in the mile. He smashed Jim Ryun's HSR… + See More - See Less - Alan Webb jumped into the national scene in high school with his success at the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships and more notably with his success in the mile. He smashed Jim Ryun's HSR of 3:55.3 at the Prefontaine Classic with a time of 3:53.43. Webb is also the first high schooler ever to run a sub 4:00 mile indoors. After a year of running at the University of Michigan, Webb turned pro and started running for Nike under high school coach, Scott Raczko. He broke the American Record in the Two Mile at Nike Prefontaine Classic in 2005 in 8:11.48. Webb has since broke Steve Scott's American Mile Record (3:47.69) in Brasschaat, Belgium in a time of 3:46.91 and has also racked up personal bests of 1:43.84 in the 800m and 3:30.54 in the 1500m.
