Christine joined the University of Washington Track and Field/XC team in the fall of 2008 as a freshman. The spring prior she set the national record in the high school 1600 running 4:33. She also set the 1500 national record which would be broken later on my Jordan Hasay while they were running against one another at the 2008 Olympic Trials. In her first year at Washington, she led her team to an NCAA team title by placing 7th overall. She was the top freshman in the race.
