If Aguayo wins the steeple he will be the only athlete other then Steve Prefontaine to win a PAC 10 event all four years. At the 2006 NCAA championships Aguayo finished third in the steeple after almost a year absence from the sport because of injuries. In 2004 Aguayo earned his first All-American honors when he finished 22nd at NCAA leading his team to a top ten team finish. The 2004 outdoor track season was disappointing because before the finals in the steeple Aguayo had to pull out due to injuries. As a freshman Aguayo came out of nowhere to kick past Stanford All-American Ian Dobson to win the PAC 10s. |
