Did Fine   November 25 at 11:58am
Justin did fine in his interviews and he is clearly knowledgeable based on his analysis before the race and many of his interviews after.

I want to 2nd that last comment and verify Justin's assertion that grabbing people out of the chute and nailing an interview when you are not even sure how they finished is very hard.
I bumped into Flotrack at a track meet here and they were a little shorthanded so I volunteered to help out and before I knew it I had press credentials and a camera and I was at the head of chute...these runners are coming out all at once and you have to be very quick and bold to get more than one of them and to say anything coherant was too much for me...I basically froze.

Ryan has set the gold standard...if we're honest with ourselves Mark had bags of awkward interviews before things really came together (nothing against Mark...he was BUILDING the Flotrack name which is 100x harder)
If Flotrack is going to grow we need new talent. We have to be patient and constructive to help that talent along...these guys are NOT professionals and I want to keep it that way...they last thing I want to here is stale shrink wrapped schlock...the imperfections actually bring out human moments in the athletes and THAT is the good part imho

dont see why someone wouldnt be offended after someone went out of there way to slam him. I got to agree with him too. I thought his interviews were pretty good. he stuttered a little but they were head and shoulders above some of the other non-ryan interviews that ive seen.

yeah man they've got 2 guys there today just doing poor interviews
Im going to have to stand up for myself here. My interviews are not poor. I knew background information on everyone I interviewed and I asked relevent questions. I knew what grace they were, past race results, if they had transfered, about their teammates ect. Ill admit the interview with Kendra was rushed and I commented on the video about that, but all the others are solid (Duke Coach Jermyn, McNeill, Bethke, Bumbalough, Hill, White, Duwell, the Nova Girls, Vail ect.)

As for John, who was the interviewer here and on a few others, you have to understand that we were grabbing people as they came out of the shoot and did not have time to prepare questions for each runner ahead of time. We also did not get to see the whole race, particularly the end, or results, so give some slack. Obviously Ryan's interviews are going to be the best as he has been around for 2 years building relationships with these people outside these 2 minutes clips.

I hope Flotrack listens to it's viewrs. This cannot be the best they can do for people conducting interviews.

OMG this interviewer is the pits. He has not done his research on anything. Speak of what you know. He is only a sopre. Who knew? Obviously not the interviewer. I love Flotrack but this interviewer is not an asset, and THAT is an understatement.
