Bob is simply a "class act". He will be remembered for all of his running achievements, but I will remember him for signing his autograph and taking the time to answer all of my running questions at a 1998 pre-marathon dinner in Dallas, TX (he was with Carl Lewis and Libby Hickman as the running guests). It was an honor to meet and talk with him for a short time.

Hey Franklin, stop being a jackass. He hasn't run competitively in a few years and relative to how he used to be when he was competing, he's probably pretty heavy, but definitely not as big as your fat ass or your big fat mouth.

Re: Dee... Yeah, he looks heavy... heavy enough to run about 13:59 for a 5K! What's your PR?

i remember bob knocking on the door of sub-13 and joining the sub-13 club when it was unheard of for non-east-africans to be going that fast. one of my all-time legends for sure!
