Adam followed his cross season with… + See More - See Less -Adam Goucher busted onto the collegiate scene his freshman year by finishing 2nd at the NCAA cross-country championship after finishing fourth in his conference meet. Adam followed his cross season with a successful indoor and outdoor track campaign; he finished 3rd in the indoor and 5th in the outdoor 5,000 meter. During his tenure at CU, Adam was an 11-time All-American and won four NCAA crowns, (3,000 meter in 1997 and 1998, cross in 1998, and 5,000 meter in 1998); he set one NCAA record along with four CU records. After College, Adam?s career spurted up and down due to recurrent injuries. Undaunted, he battled through pain in 2000 and won the 5,000 meter at the US Olympic trials and then finished 13th at the games in Sydney, Australia. From 2000 to 2005, Adam tended to those plaguing injuries and did not compete at high levels. But in 2005, the old Goucher got ?back-on-track?; he set a PR for the 5,000 meter. In 2006, Adam claimed more success by winning the US 4k cross-country championship and by finishing 6th in the world. |
