She does not look happy with herself in this video. I think we've all been there... Hang in there Kim.

Interesting but I would have liked to hear specifically how her training has changed.

Go Kim!   June 18 at 3:36pm
Great to see her again and get a little review of her last year. She's certainly tough...going after the lead in Jordan even after a long season.
If "deserve" enters into the equation of who medals, she's a favorite.

Yes, she is a very standup person. Few there are who have run 14:39, and alone at that. I for one would delight to see her on the medal stand in any or all the big ones. And, I suspect she has a few great marathons in her, when she is ready.

Kim Smith, Changes to Bounce Back - IAAF World Champs 2009

June 18, 2009
Kim Smith, who holds six New Zealand national records, has changed her approach this year after a disappointing 2008. Kim will be running Berlin at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in most likely the 10k. Over the last two years a couple of Americans, Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan have won medals at the 2007 IAAF World Championships and the 2008 Olympic Games respectably and now Kim feels it is her time to win a medal.
