Minty came to ZAP Fitness in the fall of 2008 with a personal best 5,000m time of 16:27. Her first year in the High Country (2009) saw her knock 31 seconds off that best to run 15:56.8 and qualify for her first ever Outdoor USATF Championship (Eugene '09). Minty also knocked almost 2 minutes off her best in the 10,000m running 34:18. Minty saw success on the roads as well finishing 3rd at the Armagh Road Race 3,000m in Northern Ireland and finishing 6th as well at the Boston Athletic Association Half-Marathon in 1:16. Minty has taken to higher volume training very well and as such will be running her first marathon in 2010.
