I did that once in grade school in the 1500, but had such a lead from kicking the third lap that I was able to grind out a win. Ian seems to be taking it well, best of luck at Adidas

Ryan, nice job for talking to Ian even though it was an uncomfortable situation. It's cool that you guys are friendly with the athletes but it's even better that you still do your job right regardless of all that. Obviously Ian wasn't offended by your interview. If he had been you were still just doing your job.

letsrun-ish interview -- way to kick a guy when he is down!!
1) I wouldn't have interviewed Ian in this situation unless he wanted to
2) What would you have liked to hear as a question? "Ian you just ran 4600 meters, how do you feel about your 11.5 laps?" Just as everyone else out there when it went down, you wanted to know what happened.

Ian is a good sport and knows there is nothing negative going on. i think everyone was caught in the moment since this was a minute after the race. But in interviews you ask about events that happened, sorry if this is new to you
