Obviously he has worked very, very hard to get where he is. I watched him throughout high school, but sort of lost track of him at Stanford. Great to see him resurface with such a successful race in his home state no less! reply

It's really great to see a guy who can truly relate to the emotions and struggles of a non-world-class runner. He has his head in the right place. #2	Chuck July 3, 2008 at 5:17pm I saw a short interview of Dobson from the 1999 Foot Locker cross country national championships, and I really didn't know much about him. After I watched this, I have newfound respect for him. Go Ian! I wish you the best of luck in Beijing! reply

Bio:	Ian Dobson had a dream season in 2005 where everything seemed to be clicking. Ian and his Stanford teammate Ryan Hall dominated the US 5k. First Dobson and Hall took the top spots at the NCAA championships… + See More - See Less - Ian Dobson had a dream season in 2005 where everything seemed to be clicking. Ian and his Stanford teammate Ryan Hall dominated the US 5k. First Dobson and Hall took the top spots at the NCAA championships in Sacramento. Next, he finished second at the US championships with a time of 13:15.33, which qualified him for Worlds. At Stanford, Ian earned nine All-American honors and finished runner-up twice. Dobson holds the Stanford school record for the steeplechase with a time of 8:32.09. Dobson presently trains in Mammoth Lakes California under Terrence Mahon along side Ryan Hall among others.
