Manzano got dropped last rep but those guys he ran with have world class speed. Not to mention THE WHOLE WORKOUT WAS UPHILL IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER! With that being said, he's going to Beijing. It's not hard you run on some days,it's what you do over time. They all worked their butts off going uphill. That's why they're where they're at.UT! Their coach is a genuis and he definitely knows what he's doing. Usually coaches dont care how you feel. They just want to show thay they're in charge and what they say goes. This video is great from both aspects.

stick to mostly distance workouts. Sprinting one would be like 3 x 100m sprints w/ 10 minutes rest or some crap like that. Who wants to watch that?
TI think the best thing to do would be to go to all levels of track from elite high school team workouts to small college workouts to large college workouts or then pros then elite pros.

I don't care how low the hill grade is. Running for 300m up hill... ANY hill is tough without even considering the 88 degree weather.
Love this vid's though. Keep the workouts coming. I like Spartacus_x idea. "Workout Wednesdays"

I've Run Up And Down That Hill   April 23, 2008 at 8:51pm
plenty of times when I lived in austin and it is alot steeper than it appears in the video and hitting 52-54 is a tough pace to maintain. Take into account the already fatique in the legs from the race and the fact that its texas and its at least 90 degrees, freakin hot!

On a side note I almost got hit by a car running up that hill at dusk, it is kinda dangerous.

Great video. I agree with the other posters saying that this hill isn't all that tough, but given the intensity of the workout, and it being just a few days after a big meet, it was more than plenty. Great work, guys.

ps--I live close enough to that road to run it now and then if I wanted, but it's so dangerous! That road's real narrow, and and has a blind curve. Yikes!
