While at Willamette,… + See More - See Less -Nick Symmonds took an unconventional route to second place in the 800 meter at the US Track championships in 2006. Symmonds attended Willamette University, a Division III school. While at Willamette, Symmonds owned the track; he won seven national titles. Though Symmonds was relatively unknown heading into the 2006 US championships, that did not discourage him. To earn his successful finish of second in the nation for the 800 meter, Nick passed a pack of five runners during the last 150 meters. Now Nick?s route to championship has broken the mold for others to follow. |

that was amazing too!
Chilling!
I understand what you're saying, but don't hold that against galen. he was put in a situation to be trained by some of the best. its frustrating for some people to see that, but put yourself in his shoes. if you really think about it, wouldn't you take advantage of those resources? as a runner, i think most would
Great choice for #1 but I don't agree with 2. . i liked Jenny B's better. Also, how about Minnesotas Heather Dorinden when she fell in her race and picked herself up for the win!
Nick didnt have his hand held by elite coaches from day 1.
just like Pre, Nick made it happen for himself
