About the only thing that Nick lacks at this point is the "speed to burn" factor. He's clearly "channeling" Pre well but he's got work to do in the speed glide dept. He's clearly running too close to his max when the Kaki's(is he the dude that smoked @ Valencia earlier this year?) of the world have such monstrous speed in reserve for any kind of "balls to the wall" end race duel

I love watching Nick run cause he's got a mountain of heart but he truly spooks me out with the real estate he gives up against the likes of the mighty speed burners he's going to be running against in Beijing...they are flat out faster than him in a sprint and he regularly spots them 8,10,12 meters on the fly...Nick you're gonna make me "meet Elizabeth" as Fred Sanford would say...yes,you're intuitive...yes,you've got a mighty heart... but when your max posted quarter to date has been 47 or 48(I forget which it is for you) and you're running against studs that have probably posted some 46's or maybe even high 45's you'd better modify your deep charge tactic just a little...you think? Anyway...great "swim" move going up to the trigger phase and remember to let "the force" flow through you and take the gold from these warriors in China town because you are the ultimate warrior!

sit and kick is how you win the 800m idiots. if you're trying to run fast, you go out hard, if you're trying to win the race, YOU run the way that gives YOU the best opportunity to WIN..which is usually sitting and kicking..especially when you've run prelims, quarters, semis before the final

???, aren't there really only two strategies? Sit and kick or lead? You can go with the pace and still sit and kick. Sit and kick doesn't mean stay at the back of the pack for most of the race. A person can be in second for all the race until 700m and kick and it will still be a sit and kick. Sit and kick wins on the international level. Leaders at 400m lose more often than not. If you watch competitive 800m races, the leader at 700m loses the most of them.

sit and kick might work in the US, but it was evident in the past that it has not worked against the world's elite. He needs to man up and go with the pace a little or "kaki" is going to own that @$$ in beijing. ( direct to "whatever & justin)
