Very few (if any) make huge amounts money, are on Sportscenter, and all the lights and glamour that other athletes live. Cut them some slack, he's an elite runner (globally) and has a great chance and at doing some damage in China reply

If you read the posts following his interviews and races there are always people who seem to find some negative. After this interview it's clear Symmonds is a credit to the sport and very deserving of his success. reply

Bio:	Nick Symmonds took an unconventional route to second place in the 800 meter at the US Track championships in 2006. Symmonds attended Willamette University, a Division III school. Symmonds attended Willamette University, a Division III school. While at Willamette, Symmonds owned the track; he won seven national titles. Though Symmonds was relatively unknown heading into the 2006 US championships, that did not discourage him. To earn his successful finish of second in the nation for the 800 meter, Nick passed a pack of five runners during the last 150 meters. Now Nick?s route to championship has broken the mold for others to follow.
