Jack Daniels, head distance coach at the Center for High Altitude Training at Northern Arizona University, trains and consults runners from all over the world. Daniels has been named NCAA Division III Coach of the Century, three-time NCAA Division I National Coach of the Year, and was named World’s Best Coach by Runner’s World magazine. Throughout his career, Daniels has worked with many successful athletes, including Jim Ryun, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Peter Gilmore, Amy Hastings, Ryan and Alicia Shay, Magdalena Lewy Boulet, and many others. Daniels is a two-time Olympic medalist in the modern pentathlon.

Does anyone know if he has written anything for really old people (I am 71)? I do triathlons now, partly because I can still go fast on the bike and fairly fast in the swim. But, my heart is still in running and I would like to get some of my old speed back.

"When do you know when a system that you really believe in and coach, dosen't work for someone and at what point do you amicably part ways?
As a coach myself, its very frustrating when a kid dosen't buy in to a system, I know would work, but he just won't go there...
I had that happen to me, man, I was mad, but I let it go and wished him well.
Has that happen alot with you?
