Just think of the extra cost as a donation to flotrack. This is a FREE site that has amazing content. How long did it take to receive your shirt? I ordered mine a week or so ago and haven't seen it yet.

Dear Mark,

I understand the need to recoup the promotional costs of spreading the original t-shirts at the trials. However, some of your members have enough t-shirt selling experience to help you get the price down and tap into the $15-20 crowd. This would further help your revenue stream and allow you to invest in extra server space and better video editing equipment and better mikes. These t-shirts would be a big seller at a lower price.

Come On   August 1, 2008 at 7:15pm
I think this is a prime example of how much money Flotrack is making. Mark can't afford to buy a bunch of shirts in bulk because it is way to expensive. He would have to take out a loan just to make shirts that he isn't even sure would sell. I think its great he is selling them now. If you don't have the money thats to bad. I know that I already ordered one and I don't care of the cost cause it is to support something worth while. OUR SPORT.

I love how everyone is complaining about this even if the shirt was $20 I be that half the people complaining wouldn't even order it.

Man oh man.....
I can hear some of your points but we are not selling in bulk so we do not get a deal in shirt prices. It is actually on demand. When someone orders one the company prints it. We do not have time to send them out so we have to pay for that service as well.
Me or the this site will never be PC and when I have to stop making stupid comments like my WCSN crack or have to disclose that I am embezzling the millions of dollars from the T-shirts sales to my off shore betting that will be the day that we shut the site down.

At the end of the day if you add in the loss form the first batch, the shirts we give away, the up front costs, the time spent dealing with shirt companies and the printing, and this batch we will still be in the red by a good deal on Black Cactus Shirts but I will not loose any sleep over it, so I suggest you don't either.

About That..   August 1, 2008 at 5:21pm
unfortunately not everyone has the ability to leave their lives of working to go to a week of track in oregon. and if u think all you have to do is work for a couple hours and its no big deal then clearly you don't have to work or understand the value of money.

Cold easily sell hundreds of shirts for $15-20 and make a decent profit. Honestly, how many do you have to sell to pay for a $50 WCSN account? You did a good job getting the word out on the T-shirts this time, and there are tons of us willing to buy shirts as the word spreads that a new batch is out. But a more reasonable price is what it's going to take for the majority of us lined up here to buy one. We still love you and your site regardless, Mark Floreani.

yo suck it up, 35 dollars is steep but its for a good cause (supporting Abdi and Flotrack). When you think about it we get a pretty good deal, all this behind the scenes footage, meet coverage, athlete interviews that were non-existent prior to this site, and it doesn't cost anything. I'm willing to "pay" 35 dollars if it goes to making the site better. Christ, get a job at stop n shop, work for one day, quit, get your check for 35 dollars and buy the damn shirt, .

that is still an unbelievable price for the shirts. I get hundreds of shirts two or three times per year for road races we put on and we pay under 4 dollars/shirt for 2 colors. That is cool if you want a better quality shirt but making $30 per shirt is a little excessive...especially when you say that you are just trying to pay for a WSCN account. At least tell us that you are funding the white pearl or gas money or something...but a $50 annual fee? Come one, you pay that in two shirts!

Why not just use cafepress or a similar site if you are concerned about losing money?

Mark From Flotrack   July 31, 2008 at 3:51pm
Hey Hey ez there.
The price was decided by me and not Abdi. And all the money goes to me to fund my WSCN account which puts me back $4.95 at Track Meet or $50.00 a year.

Also the other shirts were cheaper and people complained so I had to get better shirts and better logos. We lost money on the last batch and I am not willing to loose more on this one.

Lower the price we know it only cost you like 5 bucks to make them. Why are you trying to make such a big profit off it?

$35 for gold black cactus tee + $9 for Shipping and Handling? I love Abdi and I love Flotrack, but there's no way I'm paying $45 for a plain cotton-polyester T-shirt. Unless there was some explanation as to where the money was going... like a good charity.

I don't get why its so expensive. if it was 10 or 15 dollars cheaper, so many more people would buy it. They would make more money if it was cheaper.
