Crested Butte Colorado IS the place to go, i went there one summer between sopre year and junior year, my 5k time dropped by 1:50. Coach Sanderson really knows what he is doing!

the best camp out there is the rocky mountain xc camp with Trent Sanderson (coach of Emilie Amaro, Cory McGee, Ashley Brasovan, Carly Seymour, Daniel Roberts, Adam Lenz, and other elite runners). The other coach is Jeff Arbogast, who won high school team national championships with both a boys and girls team (Binghamton HS in Utah). It's in Gunnison/ Crested Butte Colorado, and all runs are done on dirt paths at altitudes over 8,000ft. If you want to be good, go there

the running school has a great environment, but every run is done on pavement, and most groups tends to race everyday. In terms of running, it isn't as productive as other places, but its definitely a blast to attend. I'd still recommend camps with better training routes and less competition oriented groups.

my brother went to green mt. hATED IT. i went to winged foot, then the running school twice. The running school is the best, no comparison. green mt staff talks down to you. winged foot is ghetto garbage and doesn't teach diddley. running school staff cares, teaches, and works hard. str8 up.

You know your right, there are no real runners at the running school. I mean Tim Broe (Olympian), Sintayehu Taye (Footlocker, freshman national record holder, 4:09 miler), Hakon Devries (3200 all american, NYS runner of the year), Sean and Dan Tully (national high school recod holders in the 4x800),John Honerkamp (Olympic trials qualifier), recent alums Caitlin Lane and Nicole Blood and the over 600 high school athletes and staff are not real runners. It is one thing to say Green Mountain is better, I can not argue with that because I have not been to both camps, but to imply that the people that go to the running school are not real runners is another thing. Is the running school the best place for everyone, no, but I would not have gone back 3 times if I did not love it.

The Running School....Sucks...Went last year and did not enjoy it at all.First being that the running is terrible all on roads. They really do not teach you any important information. The food sucked and was gross. Sooo try going to go Green Mt. were real runners go

Tim Broe

The Running School

August 24, 2007
I traveled to upstate New York to find out what the Running School was all about. The Running School has 500 campers and 150 staff members and everyone is a runner. The camp is like a small running city where everyone is a lot of fun. I hope the video does justice because I had a blast.
