if the official didn't call it on the track, he/she judged it was gray and better to let the athletes decide it on the track. it's a shame that videotape overrides that decision of the official who is in a much better position to evaluate ALL the factors than a super slowmotion videotape. that assumes the official is good, and I hope that is that case at a world championship. yes I have DQ'd a 4x100 exchange at a high school state championship, but it was 3 ft outside the zone and the baton was still held by both. By all reports, this was a lot fuzzier..

Don't blame the Brits for USA's idiocy.
Beside, we all know US love a protest, they even protested Beijing women's 100m final because THEIR (failure of an ) athlete false started! Not to mention Martina.

They said in the press conference after that it wasn't their descision to protest, it was all down to the UKA management. They said it would have been more fun to have the US in the final.
