Darren Brown, looks like you were about 7 seconds slower than David Torrence in the mile at the 2009 Brutus Hamilton Invitational -> http://www.sml1.com/recordtiming/cal/brutus09/brutus09_res.htm You need to start training a little more :-)

"who cares about arrogancy. he won and eveyone else lost or is a loser. LOSER. including all the poor sports who can't handle that David has won."
that quote doesn't make any sense. that said, congrats to david, but watch tim's interview after this one and then honestly say you're happy torrence won the sponsership. tim's a total class act (so is lee emanuel, whoever said that) and this guy's a y little who thinks hes the cause he beat a bunch of unsponsered guys.

He won the race and looked like he could have run 3:55 or faster. The best man won today and if anyone thinks they are better, they are going to have to prove themselves

watch the lee emanuel interview, that guy is confident and a genuine nice guy. this interview makes torrence seem y and arrogant. similar but very different. he speaks about what he deserves. he has done nothing (us indoor 3k title isnt that cool really) to deserve what he believes he deserves. hopefully he will run fast someday, but right now he just needs to drop his attitude down a notch

first, congrats david
second, my $$ is on DB... go Darren!!

last, side note, didn't puma reserve the right decide who gets the contract based on the athlete's finish? it never said that if you won, they'd pick you. so they can pick tim, who got 2nd, if that's who they want to sign. am i missing something? ryan, can you clarify?

That's awesome that he finally got it. It's like one of those underdog movies except in real life.

He understands it, he is just saying as it is now, he can use it as a stepping stone, understand sponsorships, and just to talk to Puma about other stuff in the future I guess, and now really go out to prove himself. Great race too love the kick!

i like the guy and hope that he eventually gets a contract but it seems to me that he's not really aware of what the deal was. deal is, win the race and get 3K for travel and 3K for gear. If he wasn't down for that he shouldn't have run the race.
