if nothing else it just shows this guy runs for nothing more then the money and fame ... not for the sport ...
who cares if he won ... we all know this was a weak field just like the Puma mile
lol im pretty sure I know who this clown is... what an idiot
David, I tell you all the time when we talk, but I have to say it again, D@mn man, you are amazing! Keep it up, you deserve it all!
~I would have liked to comment on what one of the people below said, and I had a whole speech written up, but I realized that this isn't about getting back at people, this is about DAVID! Congrats again~
He celebrated his win. Gave props to the other runners. Thanked the city for having the race. Not once did I hear anything that was y. Actually the opposite, when he said that he didn't think he would win. Class Act. Fun to Watch. Exactly what this sport needs.
David Torrence is awesome, he's won just about every race he's entered lately and he brings such a great energy and a lot of excitement to running. I also love his relationship with flotrack. He's the man!
I think if I was in a sport for the money and the fame it wouldn't be running. DT could be using his degree from Cal but chose to give it a go because he loves the sport. Congrats DT
Ewww...I don't like negative post's either. I am happy someone that runs for love of running won that "moneys". This is a man that lived on 2 grand for 7 months and has a less than rewarding shoe contract. There are so many lesser athletes with better contract and a it warms my lil' heart that David was so happy.
Honestly, I'm usually against any form of over-celebration after races, but I think this was warrented. Firstly, I'd be pretty pumped if I had earned 10 grand after a good race. I'm sure Torrence's first priority was to win the race for the glory, not for the money- its probs an added bonus. Secondly, did you notice how many people flocked over to him when he was goin' wild?! I think David Torrence ACTUALLY might have made a few random people a little bit interested in running... I'm sure people who dont give a about T&F;would be more interested in it if we had guys jumpin' around like this after every race... Nobody wants to see calm modest sportsmanship (unfortunately)... So if this gets people involved/intersted in the sport (which I have a feeling it kinda did, even if it was a little teeny tiny bit) I'm all for it.
If you break 4 mins ur talented no matter what!!! but the guy could lightnen up on the whole getting attention to urself! if fernandez was in this race or chris derek or evan jagger it would of have been a different story!! but congrats on the win lightnen up on the show boting!

DT you are what this sport is about at the core. You haven't let the hard work required grind the passion out of your soul.
Props to Jon as well for setting the hard pace and making things happen.
