The terrible noise ruins the videos.

Silence would be much better, or play an interview while they're running.
People don't go to the mountains to listen to noise.

Video was radical! Thanks for putting this up flotrack. Ryan Hall is inspirational as usual. Don't know where folks get the idea that it is false humility. Maybe you just aren't used to hearing a voice from Southern Cali?

BTW, 3 cheers for those with the nuts to wear nut huggers! Don't knock it until you've tried it.

What Happened?   September 20 at 9:26am
Just under 62:00, which is about two minutes off his American record, and a good bit off what he had hoped to run, no?

Also... for some reason, on this page, the text of the postings runs off the right-hand side of my window. On other Flotrack pages, the text doesn't do this.

tj.. i am confident ryan would be able to nail the 2:04 pace on a yasso 800 workout.. he did 10x800 on this video, in the 2:12 to 2:17 range, with only one minute recovery.. i'm thinking it's a safe bet he could pull it off!
jon... I think you're right and that's what I was implying. It just boggles the mind though!

Hall's stride is remarkably efficient. Cox's is really inefficient. Those are normal size shorts. At least he's not wearing nut huggers like some of you distance guys.

Maybe he was downplaying how good he is, but the marathon is an event where one day you can be on and the next day you're not. So I definitely see what he's talking about.

Great job Ryan! Who cares what kind of shorts you wear as long as you crank out those repeats. I remember doing a pair of 800's like that years ago, with 1 min rest, that is tough. Good-luck!

found it pretty dull. still the music's volume is way too high. the music should be a background, secondary to the video. 1000s are better than 800s. I don't like running sets, I like running one repeat after another & as far as what Josh said I almost always (over 90% of the time) take 1 minute recovery jogs because it has made me stronger. I do respect what they can do though.

C'mon guys, he is a 2:06 Marathoner. Go ahead look up any marathoner who has run as fast or faster, and check out their 5k and 10k PB's. Sorry but if Hall decided to train for the track, he could def break 13, and probably come close to breaking 27 for the 10k.

12:45? 38 minutes ago.
Hall is nowhere near Bekele's level when it comes to 10k and under. (Might be able to challenge him in the 10k).

12:45?   September 16 at 3:59pm
Whoever thinks Ryan could run 12:45 is a , 5k and the marathon are completely different events and Ryan is obviously suited more for the longer distanced. He might be able to run sub 13 if he trained for it, maybe. Bekele has the WR at 12:37 and Hall is nowhere near Bekele's level when it comes to 10k and under. (Might be able to challenge him in the 10k).
