Betsy Bies probably broke into the 17s for an equivilant 5K time. That's exceptional for a Dakota girl running in the heat. I think she will become a major player as the Oregon girls target the NCAA Championship this season. Heaven help the rest if it turns cold and rainy. She's all-wheel drive!

Senior Melissa Grelli grabbed the lead early and never relinquished it as the All-America transfer from Georgetown finished the 4,850 meter course in 16:25.50.
