While at Adams State his teams won 18 national championships and his runners earned an astonishing 350 All-American honors. On 17 different occasions Coach Vigil served as U.S. international coach, including several Olympic teams. Coach Vigil has been inducted to 5 different Hall of Fames and to this day talks and inspires coaches on all levels from all around the globe. After living and coaching in Alamosa all his life Coach Vigil moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA to help coach Team USA and Deena Drossin-Kastor. Coach Vigil is most known for helping Deana Drossin-Kastor win the Bronze medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Since the Olympics Coach Vigil has taken a less active role in Team USA and focused his time on his family and giving speeches to coaches. |
