- See Less -Even though he was a seven-time All-American at the University of Wisconsin, Matt Tegenkamp never could put together a full year of consistent training or he might have been a NCAA champ multiple times. Only one year after he graduated from Wisconsin, Tegenkamp rose to the top of US distance running. After years of battling injuries, the 2006 season was a dream season for Tegenkamp as he was finally able to put in consistent training. Persistent dedication combined with lessons learned during the Wisconsin years paid off big time in 2006; Tegenkamp opened eyes not only stateside, but all over the globe. After his 13:04 for the 5,000m in Stockholm, Tegenkamp can almost taste a sub-13 minute 5,000m. He also achieved his best 3,000m finish with a 7:34?..all of these during the summer of 2006.
Wisconsin represent!
Did he beat Chris Derrick's recent record which was broken a couple of weeks ago?
Great race. While there were a lot of dramatic races, I think this one was my favorite!
hahahaha. Great stuff! I thought Tegenkamp was a nike guy??? How come he's running for Oregon TC?
Where have u been for the past year. Jerry Schumacher is his coach, and he moved out to Portland. Teg made the move with him. They then joined the Oregon TC
