pretty sure she's goin to Stanford, last we spoke with her mother that was what it was lookin like! We are a local company here in SLO that gets and screens all her uniforms and track/c.c. needs and wants for her and speak regularly to them so yeah sorry to the haters of Stanford but looks like it's a cardinal she'll be!

Florida State??? Jordan would wilt there. She is use to Cali. Tallahassee is humidity humidity humidity. . . with a small amount of heat thrown in. The school might have nice facilities but the environment is what's important. It's a nice place for winter training, maybe three months of the year. The rest of the year it is opressive for athletes.

Florida State is a great team enviroment!!!! Yes, go where you feel comfortable but the young ladies and coaches at FSU are about your education, you maturing into a valuable member of society, and your career after you leave the university not only your athletic pursuits. Speak to Walter Dix, he will tell you of how it is to be a member of both a championship taema nd a excellent university. GO NOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If she's looking for a great "team" environment, it would have to be the University of Washington. (Just check out all the great videos on this site of these girls being interviewed and how they speak of and interact with each other.) Those girls are very talented, competitive, and close- a great fit for someone like Jordan who wants to be pushed athletically, academically and who wants to be a part of a group of girls that get along and care about each other. Coach Metcalf will make her even better than she is as he's done with the others on this squad.

If she's not getting full scholarships thrown at her from every University she is applying to, then why would anyone else try? Her four individual state cross championships (in any state, let alone CA) should earn her that, and then pile on EVERYTHING else she has done, and there should be no questions.

She is easily much better than Dunbar comparatively and would definitely get some sort of money at Oregon (who knows if it's a full scholarship though).
If she went to Washington it would be crazy, NCAA championships for the next 3-4 years? Interesting though that Christine Bab has done so well at Washington but it seems like Laurynne Chetelat (both who were right with Hasay in the 3200 at Arcadia and the state meet) didn't do as well (of course, it's just one year and it will be great to see what she can do this track season and next year).

I hope she does go to Stanford. The academics there are make Oregon look like the University of Phoenix. Also, they aren't controlled by corporate toadies.
Look at Chad Hall, he hated Oregon and transferred to UC Riverside, where they treat him like an actual human. Oregon and Nike aren't concerned with the runners and just use their money to monopolize the running market.

Amen, Individuality of each athlete is KEY. I say that all the time. I loved that she put that in there. Hope she follows her heart and not what other people want.

I tell you. Nike this Nike That!

Curse the company for putting on such a fantastic National Meet
Curse the company for putting so much money into our sport
Curse the company that funds so many of our favorite athletes
We should all be thanking Nike for giving so much money to our schools and athletes...BUUUUUUUUUUUT we don't.

She is better than Dunbar, but besides that there are more girls scholarships available than guys in track, so girls normally do get more money and it is much easier to get a full ride.

I am a Dunbar fan as much as the next person, but Hassay is just a little better than Dunbar. I would say that she would be offered more than him comparatively.

Don't Hate On Oregon   January 10 at 2:37pm
My dad is good friends and ran with some of the higher ups in Oregons track program in high school and back in the day, and my uncle ran for UO. Both of them have told me the Oregon doesn't give full scholarships to like anyone which is one of the reasons for their depth. Of course somebody like Jordan could easily get the other part in academics.
And nike basically grew out of the university, there should be no question of links between the two because there is really nothing wrong with it.
it is the same kind of thing as when an nba player goes and invests alot of money into his old high school program and that draws alot of the top players to go there and then other people have a problem with that saying they are getting unfair advantages.
Goodluck on your decision Jordan, your top 3 choices are all very solid and I am sure you will do amazing at any of them.

phrisbee, I don't understand people like you that hate on a company that hands down, helps our sport the most.

I do agree with you that I hope she doesn't go to Oregon but it's not for that reason.
Um, Dunbar didn't get much money offered, but I'm guessing that the scholarship situation will be different for men vs. women.

She is so cool, that's got to be a bit nerve wracking to have so many school begging you to go there. Would be awesome to be in that situation, but would get confusing after a while; I'm sure all the colleges have good things about them. Hopefully she'll find what's right for her.
