He does have good days and bad days, like everyone else. Unfortunately for Webb, his bad days are at the BIG events, like last week. And his good days, like when he broke the AR, are at some nowhere track meet against nobody. Records are great, but victory in huge races against the top guys in the world is better.

he's not on anything look how inconsistent his careers been. He's like everyone else, sometimes he has good days and sometimes he has bad days. I think we still have a lot to see from him and he'll get or get pretty damn close to the WR.

Webb is so excited after his big victories that it seems like he barely knows where he is, let alone that the flower girl is right in front of him.

Man why is Webb just letting the girl giving him flowers just stand there?? I mean, just cause he's one of the best doesn't mean that he can be a jerk!

Indeed, great run by Webb. Though I must say adore Baala's smooth style. Makes it seem so easy.

A gutsy win by Webb. He is very fit right now and has a solid chance at the Worlds in Osaka later this month. If he continues to train hard and can avoid a prolonged injury, he could be the first american world record holder in the mile since Jim Ryun.

The guy ran a 3:53 mile while still in high school so unless he was on something then that time shows that he has the physical ability so no one should be shocked he is running these kinds of times and winning races. The fact that he ran well on and off the years after high school until now is good proof that he is not doing anything illegal since people on preformance enhancers tend to be better than most. Unless he is on something drug tests can't read or someone was bribed or some crap like that but I don't believe that's case. It just took him a little while to come around.

I've met Alan and he is a great guy. He's humble and eager to prove himself. It's a sad thing to see so many ppl look at his hard work and assume ***. Hard work, determination, and a little bit of dreaming can take you a long way.

I think everyone needs to relax about the EPO use...it is a tough story to not think about when a US athlete exels...but sometimes we have to believe that it is possible for a US athlete to be the best without the use of ***...Webb did break 4 in HS, and he did go on to run in College, if any of the people accusing Webb of doping competed well at the collegiate level or at the elite level, they would know that there is something called a random drug test...trust me my friends at the USATF have told me about how these random drug tests are run...so whether Webb is or not...lets just give him the due respect until he proves us wrong

i have definetely had my doubts as to whether webb would be able to compete on the world level but he has obviously shown that he has put in the work and is ready to go. he ran a great race and will definetley have a chance to place at worlds. and why does everyone always assume that people are cheatin when they run well?? webb is one of the best american middle distance runners ever, and hopefully he will be able to rep well for the us and solidify that

Richard,

how come everytime someone does well someone like you has to come in and accuse. The kid ran 3:53 as a high schooler... you wanna tell me that he was pumped full of *** then well then he had some pretty loaded parents. That time showed potential, he's aged and worked and naturally gotten faster. Lagat had one false positive. Who else would you like to belittle next? El G? Ngeny? Ryun? please don't limit yourself to just webb tell us who else your cheater radar is pointing out.

How about that Kevin Sullivan, at that age he still runs well despite that he is practically over at this distance. I hope he moves up to the 10.000 next year or at least the 5.000.

i would say both men ran good races right where they should be the pace will only get sweeter in osaka... Alan Webb could have relaxed more
(1 second)through the first lap and probably ran sub 3:30... he is really really fit ... just wonder how much nikepaid for that
(not implying anything ... EPO)... well at least we know their marketing plan for the spring of 08 especialLY after they run their... i mean alan wins worlds.. on a serious note i Like Webb regaurdless if hes using anything people need to realise that its all part of the sport not just this sport but everysport. americans point fingers when someone runs fast where other individuals take the fact they could be doping with a grain of salt and recognize the great performance. we all know Lagat was pumped full of *** when he did his best racing... my prediction Lagat out... Webb in! NIKE Makes sure Alan wins Gloriously in Osaka! GO WEBB GO WEBB!
