I am going to NC to watch the National Nike Meet to watch Colby break the Texas 3200 meter record. After 21 years it is time to go.

Well the only reason I went out in 4:30 for the first 1600 was because Coach Greaen told me that if I went out any faster then that he would give me two swats with the paddle when I returned home....true story.

Besides German ran the 4:05 before the 9:00 so the 75 min gap means nothing...

4:06 is faster for sure. My guess is Henry could have gone faster but he wasnt tested. most impressive was the 4:30-I'm-just-cruising-first-mile and then the hammer went down with a 4:22 for good measure to run the still standing 8:52 record. Second and third place was 9:01.xx

last time i checked colby ran 4:06 and 8:53 which is clearly a faster double
than 8:52 4:09

that would more than likely be Eric Henry, 1987. he ran 8:52, which is still the record. he also did it with neg splits (4:30-4:22). then he came back and ran 4:09. second was 3 seconds back.

actually Michael's a pretty hardcore racer. At the Pearland meet he knocked over a guy from Creek in the 2mile 150m in because he got boxed in. But he did the same thing here that he did in the mile there, where he kicked up at the 1000m.

Whoever said Cook pushed Colby is an idiot. I'm a close friend of michael and he is not the kind of guy to push someone else. If you look at it michael was in front of colby when colby TRIPPED. It is just out of the question that michael would stick his arm behind him or turn around and push him during the last 200 of the mile...idiot.
