Steroids programs can be configured for lean muscle mass. While most people use them for bulking their results vary depending on the types used, how they are stacked with other drugs, how they are used, diet, and training program. Yes they can and do increase performance in sprinters and long distance runners.
for goodness sakes, steroids are not a running drug. If a runner took steroids they would be extremely husky. Show me a all-state runner thats over 175 and than we can talk.
I would like to see steroid and hormone testing on 100 percent of all state finalist and anyone testing positive should be permantly banned from UIL and NCAA competition. New UIL drug testing policy is currently a laughable joke.
My daughter and several of her team mates told me that the girls 5A race was the dirtiest race they had ever run in. Lots of intentional pushing, shoving, kicking, and tripping. Just all around bad sportsmanship.
You know what all the top runners that ran that weekend i feel did really great. The boys were awesome and the gurls ran a heck of a race. I know Kingwood is upset but you know what its okay because you made it as a team every one cant do that. But enough on the boys race talk about how the girls did me presonally i feel that Brintney Green will go far. Also Lauren and Kristin were great who would have known. Becasue the people that came in top you wouldnt have thought.
wow im sorry but i do have to disagree with some of the criticism.
paavo does not brain wash you, his interview doesn't have to do with his training program, he does talk about his team and tries to stay away from talking about just himself, cj brown and tara upshaw do as well.
the guy in the background, he always has a face just like that, hes not weird, hes very shy.
colby is a great guy, very humble nice and shy, i dont think you should critize him as much as you are now
but remember THIS IS MY OPINION! so please dont diss or critisize me as well thank you

ok ANONYMOUS when you win Texas 5A State cross country 2 years in a row then you can start talking crap about how to answer questions and how to do an interview correctly!!
A Paavo & Southlake Runner November 12, 2007 at 4:52pm
hopefully our boys team willl make NTN because NTN is more important than footlocker & more fun! colby can run NTN & FL if he wants to... he doesn't race way too much... the reason why he is so good is because he races a lot!
dont be mad colbe can run faster than all of you, i was there, i watched him run the course, then went and ran it myself. its tuff, just because he had a few slips, he still could beat everyone else. Im a huge fan, and met him a few times, he not a cocky person, all he cares about is his team, and wants them to do well
PAAVO might brainwash you, but not in a negative way. All of the PAAVO runners not only have successful seasons, but will be a lot better off than most you in their later lives. SO before you talk crap about it, why do you go see what it all about... or wait you obviously don't have the courage or goal character
honestly people, i can't believe you're making such a big deal that he focused on the team more than himself. that shows hes considerate and not con seated. honestly, he's hands down the best running in the state of Texas at his age and better than many older than him. lay off.
i thought his run was outstanding and his interview was better than a lot of people's.
WHERE ARE THE 4A INTERVIEWS?? Come on, the 4A girls and boys races were the most interesting individual battlea of all. Some great running at 4A, just as good and more entertaining than the 5A races.
I've hung out with Colby many times before he was a "superstar" but still a great runner nonetheless. Colby is kind of a quiet/shy guy. He isn't going to be a great interviewee. He's a good guy, great runner, and any college will be lucky to get him. Hopefully (for his sake) his team does not make NTN that way he can run FL South, skip NTN, and WIN FL Nationals!
he kept licking his mouth
it was annoying
and he kept saying the same
thing over and over!!!
he also kept looking away and not making eye contact
those are all signs of being nervous and annoyed

youre awesome fast, it's your state title, and a humble interview is the way 2 go!
although he is stupid as hell.
i love you colby!!!
:)
"How did you do today?"
"uhh, well I won"
Great Race Colby!
just go hard from the gun till the finish?
he pretty much defined a race lol
and hmm i want to see the 4A interviews with rory and ashley isham
i thought his run was outstanding and his interview was better than a lot of people's.
Thats what i want to see!!
but seriously, he made the most generalized statements out there--he sounded like an NFL coach. where are the personalities in our sport?
whoever gets this kid is going to be lucky. he has a lot going for him. congratulations Colby.
