I'm sorry but these rankings suck lol. texas and duke belong nowhere near the top 5. except for ahearn and maybe white for texas those schools got a bunch of duds. puskedra alone at oregon is better than duke. wisonsin is the clear number 3 with finnerty, darling, and smoody. nc state should be 5. the true order: stanford, ok state, wisco, princeton, nc state.

Clark's Coach   June 19, 2008 at 10:26pm
Stephen Clark ran 4:13 for the full mile at Golden West after a return of his mono soon after placing 12th in FL natl's. He should be ready to run XC this fall if he stays healthy. He runs 1:55 for the 800 with no track work at that distance.

I think syracuse should be one there. they had the 3rd best runner in the nation last year with murdock and this year are bringing the number 1 and 3 runners from new york. they are a team looking from the outside in as well but are making taking steps that will get them in the big pictue.

Benjo did make the footlocker national squad (his junior year, and placed 6th there). He choose to go to NTN and help out his team this year over footlocker = huge team player. 24:41 for 8k at US cross, 4:16 mile his junior year at altitude... . The NTN/footlocker dilemma is not cool, but benjo is.

the reason ben johnson didn't make the "footlocker national squad" is because he elected to run NTN instead, it wasn't because he just didn't qualify i'm sure he would've if he went to west region instead of ntn.

xc 5k's are not their 5k pr's. all the courses are different, some long, some short so you can throw those times out the window. just stick to places and track times. and duke at #5??? that is not that great of a recruiting cl. you could put oregon ahead of them because they got 1 guy in puskedra who can contribute immediately and potentially even be AA. none of the duke guys can do that, if they get all conference they would be doing well.

well if this was meant to cover the teams with the most valuable recruits than OSU should've been number one...even with only three coming in they return their top 5 from cross next year...and the three coming in outweigh any other school especially since two of them are top 5 in the nation...and to the guy below me wisconsin gets about one good guy this year

also, there is no way texas is #3 for xc. those guys are good track runners but for a 10k they ARE NOT #3, maybe top 6-7.
syracuse, nc state and wisconsin could all arguably be on the list.
