Scott, you really think ritz, or webb dont know who mark is now? i mean, they should be in first name basis, he doesnt have to go upto them every time and introduce, hey i am mark, i am from this little website called flotrack.com everytime, just look in the site there is like 20 videos of ritz alone. so instead of blaming mark, i think u should enjoy the videos.

Mark seriously you need to learn how to interview an athlete. It's horrible the way you just walk up to the athletes and start asking them questions without the courtesy of introducing yourself, saying what your from, and telling the viewers the name of the athlete. It's bad form and shear amateurism. You seriously need to learn interviewing etiquette, because it's painful to watch you interview guys like Mottram, Web and Ritz. It really is.

Ritz, I think you need to put on a little weight. The wind at these meets is throwing you around like a ragdoll and you are having to overcorrect and wasting energy.

Ritz your still the man...there will be opportunities...you wont see many but you will know when you have one and be able to take advantage of it now when you see the opening

at least you had a go. like wozname behind the mike said "hindsight is 20-20". if you had sat back and come home with a 13:10 or 13:11 sure you'd be happy, but you'd also be wondering what you could have done if you had laid it on the line with 2 laps to go. you know you would have. think about this, for 85% of the race you sat back and ran the perfect pace, then with a couple of laps to go, you were still in the lead pack, the pace was good, why not have a crack at it and go for the win? the competitive instinct is something you should nurture, not be disappointed with. even when you feel it cost you a few seconds. it'll pay off more than it will costs, over a lifetime of racing. i remember watching you last year in the great north half, hanging onto hendrik and berhanu for the entire race, and being in the mix to the final km. that was a gutsy race and shows what you're capable of. combine that with the killer instinct and you'll be sitting pretty not too long from now. cheers, and keep racing! mince

Hey it looked like you got what you needed out of this race, a hard 300m doesn't mean you can't run great at world champs! Go get em!

Thanks for the interview, Ritz. You are amazing to watch - such talent! I can relate to the feelings of shame when you feel you could've done a bit better, but I can also tell you that it's much better if you can find a way to not go there. There are only two distance races in my own 25-year running career (albeit, not anywhere near professional level) in which I felt I ran as perfectly as I could have. The rest left me second-guessing my effort and/or decisiona during some part of the race. You run, you learn, you do better next time. Godspeed!
