Hard to tell from the camera angle, but it seemed like there was a lack of kicking at the end of the race. Or rather, the kicking was extremely delayed (last 5 seconds give or take). Of course it's possible that all 3 at the end were kicking at same speed and then one went into an even higher gear, but I felt that it seemed rather delayed for being a kicker's race. Plus it was all downhill in the second half.

Torrence and Schmitz knew going into the race that they were not going to finish. They both had just taken a 2 week break from running and had only started jogging...It was a tough course on the body so why would they finish if it was risking injury. I was glad to see them at the event and wish them the best of luck in the future

Anyone know why Torrence dropped out. He generally falls behind then storms to the front, I was suprised to see him drop out...

The shaky camera made me throw up. Screw Flotrack!

That was a slow race anyways.

Couldn't believe how many dropped out. It's just a mile. Who cares if you end up running 4:30, just finish the race. I'm a huge Torrence fan, but I never thought I would see him quit.

Some people get upset when the “first annual” occurrence of some event is announced, arguing that it doesn’t become annual until it’s been repeated. But “first annual” simply means “the first of what is planned to be an annual series of events”—it’s a fine expression.

1st annual ? Don't your mean inaugural? Annual means the recurrence of a previous event.
