Does anyone know what happened to him? Is it a leg injury?
Besides the injury, does anyone know why this kid has no life in him at all? Its an interview and he's just sitting there, acting so shy,and basically like he doesnt care about anything. Its too boring to watch. If you're about to watch this, dont. JOSH YOU BEAT GALEN RUPP AND GALEN'S GOING TO THE OLYMPICS!! YOU HAVE POTENTIAL TO BE GREAT. Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

how bout you let these runners chose who and what they run for. They chose to run for God\'s glory, so how about you lay off??? "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar like wings on eagles, they will run and not grow weary...\"Isaiah 40:29

Physical therapy, strength, drills, plyometrics. Most runners overlook this aspect of training, but it has gotten me get over very bad tendonitis and helped me stay healthy.

Josh, If what you are saying is true about your leg weakness you need to incorporate yoga into your training program to strengthen your core.

i hope the comment was just an observance, not criticism. they really dont warrant it

Its great to see how his pity and self doubt turns into trust in God and faith through prayer with the Lord (at the 9 minute mark).
Hard times hit us all, but we find strength in others who show the love of Jesus and care for us.

This reminds me of Tim Broe :

Going to the Wharton's sounds good! "godsquad"...God has just softened up the hearts of some of America's best distance runners. All in his grace. None of them deserve it and neither do I--or you.You might try asking God to show the same mercy to yourself! You'll be surprised at what you might find!

josh, I couldn't understand you more. I feel like we are both at parallel paths at the point of our career: both facing an obscure physical problem that is holding us back from running to our potential when all we want is to finish out our collegiate career with a sense of satisfaction. Of course, I am no where near the same level of talent as you are at, but I completely understand the confusion, the frustration, and all the other emotions you are going through. I've been looking for answers as well and I just want to thank you for reminding me that, after all is said and done, you always have your faith and prayer to guide you. Good luck with everything. I'm sure that you will find the relief you are looking for!

Josh McDougal, pt.1

May 6, 2008
This past weekend saw a ton of great times run at Stanford, however, there was one familiar face that we did not see out there. For the past few months Josh McDougal has been dealing with some unknown problems while trying to stay in shape for the trials this summer. I caught up with him on my journey to TX to see what's been going on.

Look out for the second installment of this interview tomorrow where Josh talks about some future plans.

See part 2 of this interview here.
