Lopez Lomong will be heading to Africa this week and a may focus of his is heading to his village in Sudan to build a church. This is the church that Lopez was taken from when he was a boy, the church where the village gathers for services and town meetings.....and the church that is currently on a tree. Thats right, the "church" the village currently has is simply a tree the villagers gather under. Lopez is heading up this operation with Sudan Sunrise, an organization out of Kansas.

If you'd like to help the cause and donate to the Village's church you can go to http://sudansunrise.org/programslopezlomong.htm

If you look at the results from Big 12's this year and see how much better there top 3 guys from this year ran than they did last year its a really good improvement. Last year those guys werent even in the top 45 and this year they were within 7 sec of top 15 ncaa guys(Jordan Kyle 12th and Girma Mecheso 14th last year) So I would say there improvement rate for the amount of time Coach Hayes has been with them is pretty good
