I noticed the group always started together, surely that means either the fatsre guy was getting a larger recovery or the slower guys were not getting their 2 minutes? Solid session though!

wow i do have to admit Lopez definitely has a chance for the Olympics this year. I mean must times since the late 40's were about 1:46.73 if you averaged the times on the fly, and at the Outdoor Championships I think he had ran a what, a 1:47? As for Rupp and Dougal that might be could competition, but Lopez has that end kick so we'll just have to see at what he does in 15 which he ran in the championship outdoor for NCAA in 3:43!

As to "Effet" and "Wrong Season's" comments. I didn't see anybody "racing the 400s" in the workout, and since when did people peak by doing 10 x mile 10 tens before the Nationals???? I have found something common on the track websites(unfortunately)...usually the guys who don't put their names up...never focused...never put it on the line...and remain (anonymously) without a without a clue!!!!! Predication- Lopez to win; the best coached team (Lananna and Oregon) to take team title.

Lopez Lomong is one of the great human beings in our sport which is full of them. I had the pleasure of meeting him in High school, and then again last June in Indianapolis. His story is a great one. We will be rooting for him and his teammates, and it is going to be a great National race with Oregon, Iona, and others!!!! The video was a good one depicting the simplicity and relaxed, yet purposeful nature of their workout focus.

Well Lopez was down right dirty in that workout. Expect huge things from him this year in the 1500 cause that was a bread and butter workout for him at that sort of distance. The only thing Im not sure about still is he can last 10km with McDougal and Rupp, because that workout showed that he's going to be the NCAA 1500m champ again but Im not sure how much it means over 10km when speed endurance is second to overall strength that someone like Galen and Josh have built up over the years.

What a great workout video! If I was of college age and wanted to become the best distance runner I could be, NAU and Flagstaff would be the place. With the combination of 7K altitude and miles and miles of soft trails, Flagstaff is a distance runners nirvana. Wish I was 18 again...
