y or not y. He is fast and he doesn't need everyone to like him to run fast. I would rather be y than scared..... he may take y as a compliment. I know I would.

i know russell, and he is not cocky at all. he's a really good guy and is quite humble about how good of a runner he is.

damn people need to lighten up! the guy is very gracious...not cocky. he is trusting in his teammates and coaching staff. whose the retard that goes into trials thinking, "oh gee golly i dont know if i'll make the olympic team but gosh i sure hope i do." hell no, you need to believe in yourself and need the confidence. ya'll are just jealous.

his kick is not sharp right now? Well neither was anyone else you were racing. And nothing on the line? Every race their is something on the line. Quit coming up with lame excuses.

russell is a great guy and very loquacious when flotrack is nearby. i have watched football with him during the holidays and watched him help other athletes at the indoor track near his home during the break. he is humble, not cocky. he actually believes in himself and his coach. not needing to know "the mystery" of training works to his advantage. he just runs and races with instinct. rather than question workouts he does them trusting peter tegen. and rather than prepare sharp answers for those who ask him about his running he speaks with an authentic voice. this guy could have thrown in the towel right after he got to stanford with the coaching change he had no control over but has adapted brilliantly. those who criticize russell should listen and gets hints on what competition is about.

Training is a mystery huh? Maybe you should read a book about what you are doing on a daily basis.

this kid is way too cocky , during the 10k he was talking about how he's going to get the 3rd spot at the trials and wouldn't stop talking about himself
