Outdoors, Alcorn proved that the indoor season was no fluke by winning the NCAA 3,000m Steeplechase title. Soon after, he signed with Nike and earned a spot on Team U.S.A. in the steeplechase at the 2009 World Track and Field Championships in Berlin, Germany.
