oh yeah and web is going to be really good this year for all who think he's gonna suck.

Will   February 21 at 12:43pm
no creatine only adds water wieght and thats it. it only causes you muscles to absorb water and it'll make you slower

im a descent runner but alwasys looking for improvement. im 6 feet 2 and weigh 125 and very weak. does anyone know if creatine would help me get stronger for the mile to 5km races?

Ive never ran indoor so i was wondering is this a pretty slow track, given the sharp turns without embanked sides?
Yes, 200m unbanked indoor tracks are pretty slow.
I'm working out on one Tuesdays right now, and the times I'm putting up for my intervals are usually slow by around 1/2 - 1sec. per 200m compared to what I would do on an outdoor track.
I would definitely put an asterisk beside any time recorded on such a track; it'd be worth a faster time on almost any other track.

Hopefully his plan is to run with all that weight like a weightvest and then cut for the big shows. He still got his great turnover but looks h-e-a-v-y!!

Hey Javier Madrid i know why German is faster then Alan Webb because he weighs like 30 pounds less than he does. He is does not look like a miler he looks like a freakin discus thrower. Hopefully he comes back though.
reply
Alex Martin   February 2 at 9:30pm
I could be wrong but I think there was a rabbit in German's race, which would explain the faster time and Lagat had to run 11 laps for the mile so all those turns will definitely break up a rhythm.

Hair Club President   February 2 at 6:16pm
Forget hitting the weights, where did he get that hair? I think it's slowing him down.

Hey man it was an honest question, I was just trying to figure out why German ran a faster time, no need for name calling. I know Webb will ran faster later on but it still does'nt explain German running 8 seconds faster than him with only a month of training. Could you explain that?
reply
Go Webb   February 2 at 1:51pm
Man, He is C r a p. He is 26, his career is over. What a loser...

in a few months when he is running fast everyone will be ready to stroke the shaft. He ran so easy.. If any of people actually knew anything about running or the history of it then you would understand that he ran in a small meet, doubled up, and went really easy. all of you morons that think German can beat him are ed.. German is great don't get me wrong, just wait for webb to get back on his game. I'm not saying he will be Willis next weekend but he will run a solid race coming off of his worst year of racing.. (keep in mind he got down to a 3:35 last year, none of you posting could even dream of running that fast)
And also I love this guy cause he isn't a punk.. He is a nice guy and when you meet him the second time he remembers you from the first time. He isn't out hitting the bong like Phelps.

Javier Madrid   February 2 at 12:52pm
Tell me why German Fernandez ran faster than Webb and Lagat coming off an achilles injury?
reply
Austin Jones   February 1 at 4:21pm
This isnt meant to be a dig at all, but he looks big to me, especially in his quads. Obviously he looked pretty good so maybe he needs a little more bulk. Just saying though, compared to last year and the year before he looks big.
reply
Anonymous Coward   February 1 at 12:53pm
he's only 26...no way he's a has been.
reply
Reinhardt VanWyk   February 1 at 11:18am
I wonder if he has issues with keeping relaxed...he always does so good at the small meets and looks like he's flowing, but at the large meets that count, he looks strained and usually does not do so well.

Runsaul   February 1 at 11:12am
For someone to hold the outdoor American record, I have nothing negative to say about him. Everyone else can talk all the smack they want about him cause they have the right to speak their mind, but they will NEVER run as fast. He looked VERY controlled and easy in both runs. I wish him all the best this year.

when webb runs under 3:47 this season, most of u guys will be sucking his nuts. it's january, it doesn't really matter right now.

Good benchmarks for Webb in the mile and 800 ! Solid closing on both races. He needed someone out front throughout the mile to help him go under 4 min (or at least become much closer to 4 min). In the races, it looks like his left arm is going more across his body (maybe due to the first races in several months). He's still the guy to win World's, win a gold medal in an Olympics (hopefully 2012) , and set the WR in the mile at some point in his career. He's got the AR in the mile. Best wishes on your achievements, Alan.

Some aspect of the video really made everyone look short and chubby. Take a look at others - they all look that way.

So he ran unattached...
What's the status with Nike contract?

That's not even a banked track... pretty fast for a flat track.

Fraunkensteen   January 31 at 9:44pm
He does look pretty big. You have to think that much bulk up top can't help him. I hope he has a great season, but man, he sure doesn't look much like a miler. Look at pictures of him 2 years ago and then look at him now. Definitely hitting the weights.

here i am thinking that he's a total duscher but it turns out hes not a duscher, hes just fat and out of shape

he is looking pretty big right now huh

Evan   January 31 at 8:50pm
Alright, these are obviously just training runs for Webb. He looked really easy in both of these races. In the 800 he let Moise get way ahead. It's pretty obvious if you just look at how relaxed he is. And especially in the mile he was just striding out through the whole race. You should probably watch the video again before you decide to rip on Webb and act like a jackass.
