Over in west texas the conditions were the same as far as competition goes. Crane ran alone all yr long meet after meet. There wasn't a meet where anyone thought they could beat them. Winning by 10 seconds or more from the first meet with alternates on the relay. They were something special. Not saying they could have ran a 3:12 but a 3:16 is what they wanted to save for state. I can't congratulate corrigan enough for the amazing job they did because wow they blazed up that track all night! That team will be remembered for a at least another 25 yrs like the previous record panhandle set.

ok why does everybody keep bringin up crane?? we jogged at every meet this year.. if me and kameron had a litte more comp we would have ran a 3:12 but since west and south texas sucks we'll take those new state records

First of all this is not Eric and you know that. Don't do this kind of trash. I will find out who you are and print something ugly about your little tail. I am gonna know who you are cause someone here always snitches someone off. LOL You now how I do not like this kinda stuff so stop it or come to my office and we can discuss why you may have said ugly things about one of your own. You know where I am...cya

You are so right and I made a type-o, but my typing skills do not reflect the clock. All the teams put forth their best effort and are all champions. If you make it to state you can brag all you want to about something, in my book. I bet most of the people on this board have never even been a dang track let alone been to state in anything. We need to give credit where it is due and let the other BS alone.

Pay no mind to C-Town Trackster. . .they more than likely have never been on a relay team let alone a Crane Mile Relay Team! So they have no idea what they are saying! People like that with comments like that just put a bad taste in everyone's mouth! Our runners should represent Crane's Track program with respect and intelligence. Not an ignorant potty mouth. Sorry about that.
reply
C-Town Trackster   June 11 at 4:59pm
Crane would have beat everybody's ass at State! They are the best Mile Relay Team in 2A no doubt!
reply
Ellen Pursley   June 11 at 12:16pm
Well, let's see...Lancaster 4A 3.13.55
Denton 4A 3.15.02
Spring/Westfield 5A 3.15.22
CORRIGAN/CAMDEN 2a 3.15.57
Conroe 5A 3.15.77
Cuero 1A 3.19.97

Now, where is Desoto's time and Duncanfield's time. Not only does CC have a time of 3.15.57 but a little school like Cuero is running right up there with the big boys.Mmmmmm Holla back...

NO WAY Corrigan C. beats the likes of Desoto,Duncanville or Lancaster in the 4x4..............NO WAY YALL would BEAT ANY OF THOSE 3 TEAMS

Out of all you Anonymous Coward, said I would agree with the football statement. lol. And as for the other stuff you are right again, it is all if's and but's! And the kid never meant to jump of course. He didn't feel comfortable in the blocks and felt like he was about to fall. He tried to hold it but it was too soon. . .not like it means any different.
reply
Ellen Pursley   June 9 at 3:54pm
I think you are right. CC could hold their own in 5A and 4A. I saw the times there and our time was hands down enough to win. Kameron and Chris will be missed for sure, but first leg wasn't too shabby either and 3rd held his own. I was really proud of our lady dawg with back to back state medals in shotput. Hopefully she will have 3 state medals to claim after she graduates. Way to go Sam!
reply
Lancaster   June 9 at 2:43pm
Yea lol like we had push also.... and just be thankful yall in 2A n not 4A to run against us

And I would be world champion if I ran faster than every human on earth

PureMuscleMass   June 8 at 8:39pm
That young man from Pottsboro on the second leg is a Soph. and holds the school record in the 200 and now as a member of the Mile relay. I say you need to keep your eyes open for this kid, a real beast in the making watch what I'm saying.

The Track Guy   June 8 at 8:31pm
I think that is alittle much to say Cisco had the look of defeat!! strong / sure statement and I'm from the other side of the state. I would say the same look that Crane may have had in football against Cisco
reply
Anonymous Coward   June 8 at 8:27pm
I think what is being said is that the flu caused a problem with training etc. I just wonder how someone could jump in the mile relay? I saw it on the web site it was a good call by the ref. I do believe however that they should look into this. I believe regionals and State should allow for one false start then the entire heat is at risk like they do in the olympics. Crane may have gotten 3rd at best, I dont see them beating Pottsboro or CC, but this is ALL if's and and but's.....so it does'nt matter. Not taking anything away from Crane just my opinion
reply
Track   June 8 at 6:37pm
Not a chance Anonymous Coward. Crane coasted prelims at the regional meet and ran faster than Cisco. And indeed they won their heat by are greater margin. The Cisco kids had the look of defeat on their faces all day until the false start by Crane. Both teams respected each other and expected a good race though. And never blamed a thing on the swine flu, just simply saying those kids ran that long ago and if like all the other teams they would only get better. True it was never seen, but still they were impressive. Can't say a thing about Pottsboro because they were never at the same meet. And Corrigan of course in a league of their own! I believe The True race would have been between CC of 2A and Lancaster of 4A. Corrigan needed a bigger push at the end.

What a show for Corrigan-Camden. These guys were State Champions last year and showed back up to claim yet another state title. Not only did they do that but set a new state record. I am so proud of these guys and I will miss those Seniors more than they know. What great athletes they are and what a blessing they have been to Corrigan-Camden. You Go Dawgs!!!!!

Crane would have been 4th behind Cisco, You have to remember every team sat an extra 3 weeks out during this flu year. I think we all saw "The race come true".

Track   June 7 at 4:55pm
It would have been something to see. The last two legs on both teams are the same from last year and Garcia is slightly stronger in the quarter (All 4 returned from last yrs crane relay). Corrigan wasn't blowing way the comp till the 3rd leg. Crane ran a 3:20.54 over a month and a half ago. Thats a lot of time. Congrats to Corrigan! Definitely the most impressive 2A team seen so far. 2 massive state records, 4 Golds and a team championship! WOW! It's a shame we all didn't see that race come true. . .maybe could have been an even greater record with both teams shattering the old one! I know Crane they will just work hard to get there next yr and Corrigan always has athletes! 2 teams that take the mile relay as serious as it should be! Congratulations again to CC! It was fun watching!
