I read what the jmee samuels fan had to say about his boy.Jmee didn;t run under 20.50 several times.I watched him that year as well, and at Texas relays time jmee was running 10.5s. He got his times down in the summer elite meets. He wasn't in Roy martins league, or Joe deloaches league.greg sholars 9.9 was hand held, it was 10.16 f.a.t.

For everyone that's been oblivious for the last year in high school track and field that keep saying he would've tied or broke the national record had the wind was legal, we would've have. The US high school national record is 10.01 set last year but Jeff Demps, who's now a freshman at Univ. of Florida, in the qualifying rounds of the 100m of the 08 Olympic Trials. Prezel Hardy wouldn't have set the national record but he's pretty close so the potential to do so is there but this time regardless of the wind wouldn't have gotten him it.

The record that Greg Scholars from Fort Worth ran was way above wind limit.BUT, it is the fastest highschooler under all conditions, which im sure this run is here too. Similar to Tyson Gay running a 9:68, but all conditions..

He was moving...... yea he would have tied the record! My best friend J-Mee Samuels was the first and only highschooler to ever ran under 10.1 legally and currently holds the record and ran it with a 1.2 wind. He also ran 10.05 with a 2.2 tail-wind! This guy has talent though if he gets under the right training he can go far! J-Mee Samuels had to be the best highschool sprinter in history though! Not to mention he ran 20.32 in the 200 as well! In his senior yr. he ran nothing less than 10.32 in the 100, running under 10.1 3 times that yr. 10.05 and 10.08 twice and ran nothing less than 20.50 in the 200 that yr also! He was Nike Track & Field athlete of the yr.....USATF Athlete of the Year.....Pan-Am Jr. 100m champion......USA National 100 & 200m champion that year as well! I give this man his credit but growing up with J-Mee Samuels and seeing him run all my life I wasn't too impressed!

Congrats to all on a fantastic race, meet and season! Goodwin is an awesome young athlete and sounds like an even better young man. My son is 13 and really admires his talent. He is quite the role model. His parents should be really proud. Continued success to all! God bless

You should be very proud of your son. I was at the track meet and amazed at his talent. Not only is he talented, but he has manners. And now a days, that is hard to find in young men and women.!!! And he doesn't have a "big head", and that makes me respect him 100 times more!!!
