NCAA Conference Championship Central | (All Conference RESULTS)Big Ten | Men's Results | Women's Results - Wisconsin finally shows some flare winning the title with a dominating 26 points! They were led by a young crew up front with sophomore Elliot Krause in 2nd and two frosh in the top 5 (Darling & Ahmed). Hassan Mead comes off a sub-par PreNats to win the individual race. Ohio State battles Minnesota in a close battle for second, 91-97. On the women's side, World Champ steepler Bridget Franek takes down a great field in Illini's Bizzarri (2nd) and Minnesota's Duwell (3rd). Franek leads the Nittany Lions to the Big Ten Championship in a close battle again with Illinois and Minnesota as only 9 points separated the three teams, 71-77-80. SEC | Men's Results | Women's Results - The Florida women continue their tear this season waxing the weak field 24-80 (Tennessee was runner up). UF had a 1-2 punch in Rebecca Lowe and Charlotte Browning while the rest of the 5 scorers finished in the top 9. On the men's side, Alabama was as dominate as expected, Arkansas surprises with a near win, and Auburn has a real strong top 3 (scores: 56-61-86). The race was won Ole Miss' Barnabas Kirui who had 9 seconds over US World Champ member Dorian Ulrey. Ark frosh Solomon Haile seems to be coming around finishing 9th (first SEC frosh). Big 12 | Men's Results | Women's Results - Texas Texas Wins and German is 4th! The Texas Tech women pack 5 in the top 13 to win the Big 12 title over CU. Jenny B wins by a comfortable 46 seconds while frosh teammate Allie McLaughlin is 2nd in front of ISU's Lisa Koll! On the men's side, Oklahoma State took the top 4 spots led by individual champ Ryan Vail. Fernandez is 7 seconds back in fourth. OK State 24-56 over the Buffs, but 5th man Mecheso is a distance 14th....has to be closer for a shot at the NCAA title! Big East | Men's Results | Women's Results - Syracuse men win by 5 points over Georgetown, 5 teams score between 55-97 points. Corey Thorne of Louisville wins over Villanova's frosh Mathew Mildenhall and Georgetown's Bumbalough (3rd). Villanova dominates the women's race winning 30-74 over a good West Virginia team. Led by soph and individual champ Sheila Reid, Nova takes 3 of the top 4 spots which was broken up by Georgetown soph Emily Infeld. All five Villanova runners finished in the top 12. ACC | Men's Results | Women's Results - Men's race is a battle, but somehow NC State's great Rollie Geiger finds a way to beat UVA by 15 points despite the Cavalier's Emil Heineking and Ryan Collin going 1-2. UVA, FSU, and Duke only finish 3 points apart (71-74)!! Florida State handled the women's race comfortably putting 3 in the top 6 and 5 in the top 13. Duke won the battle for second over Virginia 71-84, led by Catherine White (runner up). Mountain West | Men's Results | Women's Results - UNM Coach Joe Franklin brings home 2 trophies to Albuquerque as #19 New Mexico upsets #7 BYU on the men's side 29-34!! Jacob Kirwa led the Lobos as the individual champ over BYU's Miles Batty and was followed by 4 of his teammates in the top ten. The UNM women put 5 in the top 8 to beat BYU 24-45. The Cougar's Cecily Lemmon came away with a 23 second victory for the individual title. Pac-10 | Men's Results | Women's Results - The Stanford men win the conference with an unofficial score of 27-45 over the Oregon Ducks. Chris Derrick continues a great season by winning the race over ASU's Brandon Bethke. Nicole Blood is the surprise with taking the individual title over all the Washington Women and her own teammates, Hasay and Kosinski. The Huskies take a narrow victory over the Ducks 35-42 showing that they are human and letting us know the NCAA will be a battle!!! Heps (Ivy League) | Results - Columbia gets their title! The men squeak out a 1 point win over Princeton to end the streak and win only their 3rd Heps title in the school's XC history. Dan Chenoweth takes the individual title with a 10 second win over Brown's Christian Escareno. On the women's side, the Princeton women show they are ready for bigger things by sweeping the field with a perfect 15 points. All-American Liz Costello dominates winning by nearly 20 seconds. MAAC | Results - Biggest surprise here....Loyola's Dan McDevitt breaks up Iona's perfect score as the Gaels score 17 points to win the title. Ryan Sheridan leads the way with the win on the individual side. Iona women are also victorious 27-56 over Marist, led by the championship run by Anna Holm-Jorgensen.
